Open Space: Kid Trunks | Mass Appeal
"Drugs is killing people nowadays," says Florida rapper Kid Trunks. "People aren't killing people no more. I feel like in 2018 we gotta pull all that up and just expand." The Broward County rapper whose name was inspired by the purple-haired Dragon Ball Z character got his start in the game as part of the Members Only / Very Rare collective, helping build the wave behind artists like XXXTentacion and Skimask The Slump God. X encouraged him to start rapping and Trunks jumped in with both feet: getting his face tattooed and rocking stages with the clique. But as he explained during a recent visit to MASS APPEAL HQ, his use of Xans and lean was getting out of control. "I was gone off the drank. I couldn't move at all," Kid Trunks recalled of the night his life changed. "In the morning I found out Fredo passed away. I had to put my foot down and just stop. It was hard, don't get me wrong. But sometimes you have to do hard things to get better in life." Check out the latest episode of Open Space right now.
